The Association of Friends of Sainte-Cécile Church of Acquigny is publishing a book entitled The Sainte-Cécile Church of Acquigny. The publication and sale of this work will directly contribute to the preservation of the building and the completion of its restoration.

In the heart of the Norman countryside, Sainte-Cécile Church of Acquigny, with its baroque choir radiating with gilding and angels, is one of the major achievements of Pierre Robert Le Roux d’Esneval, known as the President of Acquigny (1716–1788), the devout builder of the 18th century.
Closer to our time, Abbé-Doctor Chevreau, a colorful figure and parish priest of Acquigny from 1911 to 1942, also left his mark on the building by commissioning the dazzling stained-glass window adorning the façade: the apotheosis of Saint Cecilia by the Norman master glassmaker François Décorchemont.
Richly illustrated, the book highlights the architectural and pictorial beauty of the building, details its “treasury” of precious reliquaries and embroidered banners, and recounts its history.
The book, in french, priced at €18.80, is available at the following locations:
Louviers Tourist Office, Acquigny and Gaillon castles,
and at Quai des Mots in Louviers
